How to actually clean your toys (and why it matters)

Cleaning takes thirty seconds and changes everything: it protects the material, prevents irritation, and makes toys last years longer. Here’s what actually works.
Why it matters more than people think
Toys pick up bacteria, lube residue and skin cells with every use. Left uncleaned, that build-up can cause irritation or infection and will slowly degrade the material itself — especially porous ones. A quick clean after every session heads all of that off.
Match the method to the material
Non-porous materials — silicone, glass and ABS plastic — are the easiest to keep clean: warm water and a mild, unscented soap, or a dedicated toy cleaner, after every use is all you need. Motorised toys can usually be wiped down and rinsed around any seals rather than fully submerged — check the product page if you’re not sure.

Drying and storage
Let toys air-dry fully before storing them, ideally in a breathable pouch rather than sealed plastic, and keep silicone toys away from silicone lube to avoid surface damage over time. Batteries out before storage, cords coiled loosely.
Make it a habit
Clean before first use as well as after every session — packaging isn’t sterile. These are small habits, but they’re the difference between a toy that lasts years and one that doesn’t.
